Student opportunities and activities
At Berinba Public School, we believe every child should have the chance to discover their strengths, follow their interests, and shine in their own unique way. Our wide range of opportunities both in the classroom and across the school helps students build confidence, develop new skills, make friends, and experience learning that is joyful, inclusive, and connected to the world around them.
We are proud to offer a diverse selection of programs that allow students to explore sport, culture, creativity, leadership, and community connection. Throughout the year, Berinba students can take part in activities that celebrate their talents, nurture their wellbeing, and inspire their growth.
Our programs include:
- School sport and athletics, including our Athletics Carnival, inter-school competitions, Cross Country, and opportunities to represent the Yass district and region.
- Choir and Performing Arts, with students proudly representing Berinba at special school events and community celebrations.
- School Spectacular participation, where our talented performers join thousands of students across NSW to celebrate creativity on a state stage.
- Pulse Dance and Aboriginal Dance Groups, giving students opportunities to express culture, rhythm, movement, and storytelling through performance.
- Creative and performing arts showcases, including class productions, assemblies, and themed celebrations that highlight student creativity.
- Cultural and language activities that deepen students’ understanding of identity, connection, and community, including Aboriginal education initiatives and NAIDOC Week celebrations.
- Excursions and incursions that bring learning to life through hands-on experiences, real-world connections, and meaningful exploration.
- Student leadership opportunities, including School Captains, Vice Captains, House Leaders, SRC, Deadly Leaders, and class leadership roles.
- Activities that challenge and extend high potential and gifted learners, offering enrichment, extension, and opportunities to explore personal passions.
- Inclusive games and activities, ensuring all students can participate, belong, and experience success in school life.
